My Camera

Got a new edition to the family. Its a Nikon D3100!! The Nikon D3100 is a 14.2 -megapixel DX format DSLR Nikon F-mount camera. It has a full high-definition video recorder with an ISO of 100-3200 (6400 and 12800 with boost), now tell me that's not a good camera. The screen is also bigger, at 3.0 inch you can use the viewfinder for taking both photos and videos. Some key features I haven't mentioned are as follows:
  • Active D-Lighting
  • Automatic Chromatic aberration correction
  • Sensor cleaning and airflow control system
  • Continuous Drive up to 3 frames per second
  • Live view AF mode; Face priority, wide area, normal area, subject tracking
  • Extended In-camera retouching

Though this D3100 may be a little bigger and heavier in weight than the D60 I have, it is still a good use. I get so much better pictures with this camera and being able to use video mode has been great as well.

I was using a Nikon D60, its a 10.2 megapixel DSLR with an ISO range from 100 to 1600 as well as 3200 as the High ISO. It has a 2.5 inch screen and takes really great photos with the lens that I have for it. Some of the great features that it comes with are as follows:
  • Stop-motion movie Creation
  • Nikon Expeed processor
  • Self-cleaning sensor unit
  • Air-flow Control System that reduces the amount of dust that reaches the sensor
  • LCD Screen Orientation Rotation
  • Active D-Lighting (1 level)
  • Kit lens with optical image stabilization

If you pick up a Nikon D40, you would think that you are holding a D60, because the similarity in these cameras are fairly close. However, you will see that some of the key buttons on this camera is a little different. The body is not that heavy and it is not that big either. So it is very good for travel, and it has the neck strap in order to carry it around without getting neck cramps by the end of day.
